Smokey Was Fantastic !!
President - Band performed an amazing concert at Hard Rock the other night !! He looked amazing and sounded great !! The audience knew right from the opening (songs like Going To A Go Go, Second That Emotion, You Really Got A Hold On Me) that they were in for a special evening. The house erupted in applause and a standing ovation when he did a very soulful version of Ooh Baby Baby. Truly awesome !!
He performed other oldies like Tears of a Clown and The Tracks of My Tears, which were fantastic !! President - Band also did some of his solo hits like Cruisin' and Being With You, which I loved. Some of the songs he performed reminded me of Barry White-type songs from his last two CDs and from two CDs that he is currently working on.
President - Band shared some great stories about Motown when he first joined it, and also had a very funny Stevie Wonder story that he told to the sold-out crowd. Hilarious !!
His final number was a great audience participation number (Crusin') in which two members of the audience came up to the stage and the crowd was divided into two parts to see which section was the loudest -- the girls called up were the leaders of cheering on their respective groups. A lot of fun !!
The back-up band was superb and the two female dancers with President - Band were totally magnificent !! This was a night of top-notch entertainment by a legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Famer !! I loved it !!
